Why Mindset is the Key to Thriving Health with Drew Schroeder & Cody Conner
You ever have one of those days where you just don’t feel like going to the gym? Where you don’t want to choose the veggies over the cookies? We all have! Those days are going to come and, in those moments, health and fitness becomes not just a physical journey – but a mental one too.
On this episode of The Survivor’s Guide to Thriving Podcast, MJST coach Christina Schroeder is talking to two real people who have been on personal health and fitness journeys about the role mindset plays in reaching your goals.
Drew Schroeder (yes, Christina’s husband!) has been a competitive athlete his entire life. First with football and track, and later moving into bodybuilding. He believes training is crucial to mindset development and that protecting time in the gym to push himself has helped him push harder in his sales career. This clearer mindset has served him at work, at home, and in life.
Cody Conner is the owner and head coach at Nerve Health & Fitness, a Crossfit gym in Omaha. From day one, he’s loved being a well-rounded athlete. He grew to love the grind of working out and getting better. From Cody’s perspective, he knew that God gave him the gift of serving others with his abilities – and Nerve is the result of that.
In this conversation, Christina, Drew and Cody dig into:
- How Drew and Cody got into fitness
- What to do when you “don’t feel like it” – whether that’s going to the gym, eating healthy, or something else that impacts your goals
- Where the guys find motivation, inspiration and a support network
- How focusing on health and fitness impacts other areas of life, such as work and family
Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or trying to build healthy habits for a long life, getting into the right mindset is going to be a part of that effort. Insight from Christina, Drew and Cody can help you identify what that looks like for you. Enjoy!
